G.F.A.A.R.C.   REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING and PROGRAM: [ PROGRAM DETAILS

FIRST MONDAY of each month at the Westgate Mall Conference Room
MEETING TIME: 7:00pm Local 
Talk-In on 147.300(+)
  The coffee pot is always on and usually our
COOKIE MONSTER will provide Cookies or other Goodies as well.  Feel Free to bring in your soft-drinks and etc.
(No Alcohol is permitted in the mall.
If the meeting date should fall on a Major HOLIDAY, the meeting is postponed until the following Monday.

If you would like to have some meeting time to present an item of interest to the group, click here to send an E-Mail to the GFAARC President, so that your item will be added to the MEETING AGENDA.  Use this method also if you want the president to bring up an item (if you don't have any presentation).

V.E. TESTING SCHEDULE & INFORMATION:
Testing for all classes of licenses and 5 word per minute Morse Code proficiency
are given at each testing session.   Please scroll down this page and read the information about our testing sessions.

V.E. TESTING BASICS

Once the test has started, no one may leave the room and return.  Please insure any bathroom breaks, smoke breaks, etc. are accomplished BEFORE you enter the testing room. Those wishing to test MUST bring the following:

  • A PENCIL or two for the TEST answer sheet
  • A PEN for the application and other paperwork
  • A PHOTO ID (driver's license or similar)
  • Your SOCIAL SECURITY CARD or your Social Security Number (don't need the actual card)
  •  Your CSCE from previous test session (if you are seeking credit for elements already passed)
  • The Testing FEE of $14.00 (Best Idea is to bring the exact amount in cash.  Change may or may not be available. Personal checks will be accepted, however deposit of them may be delayed)  

You may bring a calculator to the test session, but you must prove to the examiners that you have cleared the memories, and have no formulas stored in any other way.  No other papers, folders, notes, etc. are permitted.

GFAARC has a large number of
volunteer examiners who administer ENTRY LEVEL and UPGRADE  Amateur Radio License testing as well as tests for Morse Code proficiency every month.  The testing sessions are held on the TUESDAY following the first MONDAY of the month.  If the first Monday or Tuesday is a National Holiday, the session will be held on the following Tuesday.   

Notice to Handicapped Applicants:  Contact the V.E. in charge (see above E-Mail link) if you will require any special considerations to take the test - I.E.: materials for the sight or hearing impaired, some one to assist in marking your answer sheet, etc.)   Please contact the V.E. in charge if you will be bringing any device other than a calculator to assist you in taking your test. (I.E. a typewriter or laptop computer to copy code, etc.)

Should you miss an exam date here in Great Falls, or wish test again without waiting a full month,
the
CAPITOL CITY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB  usually sponsors  V.E. Testing in Helena, MT.

We would like you to join us for Saturday Morning Coffee and/or breakfast at the GOLDEN GRIDDLE on SATURDAYS at 9:00am.  The Golden Griddle is located in the Senior Citizen's Center at 1004 Central Avenue. A Large Breakfast with all the trimmings and a cup of coffee will set you back less than $5.00, while an "ALL DAY" cup of coffee is just 75 cents. There are a wide variety of breakfast menu items you can choose from.


COME ONE COME ALL ! This restaurant is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
(of all ages)
(discounts apply to members of the senior citizen's center, and memberships are available to anyone over age 50.

Finding us will be the easy part... Look for the table populated with hand held rubber duckie's in addition to the coffee cups.

PLEASE NOTE:    *Certain special events like Field Day, Skywarn Recognition Day, and certain public service events, may reduce or eliminate altogether attendance at the coffee meeting. Look for us the following weekend.

Board of Directors meetings are normally held on the LAST Monday of the month.  They usually meet at Westgate Mall in the conference room.   The Board of Directors handle the normal business of the club, such as paying of normal monthly expenses (power and phone bills etc.), and other normal business of the club.  This is done so that general meeting time is not wasted having to approve and vote on all normal monthly expenses.  The board also discusses proposals to bring before the general membership for a vote.

NOTE:  The Board of Directors meetings are open to the public, and therefore the general membership of the G.F.A.A.R.C.  Anyone may attend board meetings as observers, or to submit proposals.  Although the Board of Directors appreciates your input, comments and opinions of non-board members may be limited due to time constraints, and should therefore any involved discussions should be saved for the general monthly meeting.
